The module will provide you with knowledge of the threat that fraud presents to the UK at national as well as local levels. In addition, it will explain how the use of Financial Investigation to recover assets acquired through acquisitive crime, makes committing such crimes less lucrative, and thereby less attractive.

The module develops your understanding of police approaches and critical appreciation of the historical roots of terrorism and counter-terrorism strategies within the UK setting. It helps you to build a critical understanding of the UK's Counter-Terrorism Strategy and legislative framework, together with practical issues concerned with countering terrorism.

You'll study the complexities of investigating criminal offences committed against vulnerable people. You'll look at how police and other agencies work together as well as the challenges of securing convictions against offenders.

In this module you'll independently plan, design, research, and produce an in-depth study of a real-world problem closely allied to, the Policing, Law Enforcement, and Investigation syllabus.
