The Professional Masters in Solicitors Legal Practice will develop the knowledge and skills required for both the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 and 2 assessments.

  • The assessments on the programme will replicate the SQE 1 in style of questions and the practical skills assessed by SQE 2.
  • This is a new course but 88% of our Legal Practice Degree Apprenticeship students passed the SQE 1 exam in 2024 which was above the national average pass rate of 56%.
  • The course also offers you the ability to gain qualifying work experience through participation on the pathway modules.

What you'll do

  • You'll study core modules that replicate the Solicitors Qualifying Examination Functioning Legal Knowledge.
  • You will develop all the skills and knowledge required to become a solicitor.
  • You'll further extend your legal knowledge outside the requirements outlined in the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

How to apply

Entry requirements

  • Law Graduates: Either an Undergraduate Law Degree from an English or Welsh University at a minimum of 2:2 Honours, or Graduate Diploma in Law (or equivalent) qualification from an English or Welsh University
  • Non-Law Graduates: Applications are welcome from individuals with non-Law Undergraduate Degrees at a minimum of 2:2 Honours. An interview will be necessary to ensure that applicants have the required legal knowledge before the course commences. We will look at alternative or professional qualifications, life experience, motivation, and commitment. For students who cannot establish the required legal knowledge, they many need to complete a conversion course, such as Graduate Diploma in Law (or equivalent) from an English or Welsh University
  • International Applications: In addition to the admissions requirements stated above, where English is not the primary language an IELTS score of at least 6.5 must be proven as a condition for admission to this programme

Our Advice and Resolution Centre

Our Advice and Resolution Centre (ARC) offers students the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while providing free legal advice across various areas. Through specialised clinics, you’ll have the chance to work with real clients on issues like personal injury, immigration, family law, cyber recovery and more.

Whether it’s helping resolve disputes through mediation, advising on child arrangements, or supporting clients with immigration challenges, ARC allows you to apply your legal knowledge in a practical, real-world setting. This is a fantastic way to build professional experience while making a tangible impact in the community.
