Business Administration with Professional Placement

This module will introduce you to the conventions and expectations of postgraduate study in the UK and the emphasis on self-directed learning, application of knowledge and critical thinking to create original arguments. You'll learn about the university assessment procedures and the importance of feedback for personal/professional development. 

This module seeks to develop your knowledge, understanding and critical strategic analysis skills regarding multiple functional areas within the modern-day business. This will include introducing you to a range of roles and responsibilities integral to the success of businesses in an ever-changing landscape.

Gain an understanding of the strategic management process, its importance to the organisation and critically analyse global trends, positioning them in the context of strategic thinking and change within organisations.

This module aims to familiarise you with emerging research on effective approaches to leadership, management and learning development practice. You'll develop your awareness and analysis of leadership and management perspectives for the 21st Century.

This module will appraise and align individual personal behaviour and competencies towards a prospective workplace within a chosen industry/sector. You'll examine contemporary issues that allow you to bring new knowledge and add value to organisations. 

This module aims to equip you with the ability to identify, plan, negotiate and action a team-based investigation into a real-world issue or a problem experienced by an organisation offering recommendations and solutions. The module will provide practical experience of the evaluation of evidence and management information in order to inform your understanding of the application of the classical and contemporary management inquiry and thought.

This module is designed to provide an insight into commercial ventures and applying commercial skills and mindsets. You'll gain an introduction to new venture creation and evaluate reasons surrounding business successes and failures and lessons learnt from those.

This module aims to examine the theoretical inquiry and experiences related to the work context; to evaluate and challenge the role that management plays in organisations and society; and finally, to critically appraise management learning and change along with its impacts on different stakeholders.

The module will provide support for you to prototype new ventures and business models. The module will give an insight into practical approaches to launching an enterprise. You'll identify and justify a viable business opportunity and validate this opportunity as a potential business project.

You'll learn to be a proficient and analytical researcher in Business and Management through academic or practice-focused research. You'll be able to independently plan and conduct research projects, while comprehending the influence of such research on practice, organisations, policy, and your personal approach.
