Our Games Design and Game Art degrees are part of the Unreal Academic Partner Program. This recognises our experienced staff, high-quality resources and commitment to delivering an excellent student experience that prepares you for your future career. Our Animation degree includes Toon Boom training, delivered by an accredited Toon Boom user.

Postgraduate

You'll may choose to progress onto our postgraduate courses, MA Animation and MA Games Design.

On our MA Animation programme, you'll explore stop motion, 2D animation and 3D digital animation. With the help of industry professionals, you'll work on a professional-standard portfolio.

Our MA Games Design course is designed with industry in mind. You'll be able to specialise in your chosen area. You could study level design, concept art, board games, 3D modelling, narrative, game mechanics, VFX, user interface or other areas.

What can I do with a games and animation degree?

You'll be encouraged to have creative freedom as an artist, but you'll also be learning key industry skills on the programme. You'll be doing so using our dedicated studios and industry standard techniques and equipment. By the time you graduate from our Games and Animation degrees, you'll have a portfolio to showcase to potential employers. You’ll also present a project in your final year at our Degree Show.

Our Games and Animation graduates have entered many different organisations after graduation. Some of our graduates have built very successful businesses. White Paper Games, set up by our Games and Animation alumni, was founded 10 years ago. We have great relationships with the founders who to this day, support student learning on the Games Design course.

Our facilities

To support your learning, you’ll get access to a wide range of excellent facilities during your degree. This includes specialised studios, filming booths, editing suites, motion capture and VR equipment. You'll also get access to model-making .workshops with the latest software.
