An Open Day is an event when the university is open to students who are considering applying. They often include activities such as campus tours, subject talks, accommodation tours and finance talks

At a University of Central Lancashire Open Day you can expect a day filled with exploration, insight, and inspiration. It's the perfect chance to get your questions answered, from course details and career options, to accomodation, finance, and student life. 

We have lots on offer at our Open Days: 

• Welcome talk from our Vice Chancellor
• Subject talks, taster sessions, and facilities tours
• Meet our current students and learn about uni life 
• Subject stands where you can talk to our tutors 
• Campus and accommodation tours from our Student Ambassadors 
• Talks covering finance support, accomodation, and degree apprenticeships 
• Plenty of complimentary treats and refreshments throughout the day
• Personal statement workshops 
• Discounts and offers for restaurants, bars, and hotels in Preston city centre

Open Days are a really good opportunity for you to get a feel for the place you might be studying at. After all, you'll be spending a lot of time there so you need to make sure you like it.

You might not know what subject you want to study and an Open Day can help you decide this. It is also a chance to speak to tutors and get a taste of the classes you might have. And, you can speak to real students and find out what life is really like at university. 

If you want to find out about our veterinary courses, you can attend any of our Open Days but we recommend attending our Open Day on Saturday 17 August.

At any of our Open Days you can go to a vet subject talk and tour our specialist facilities. You'll have the option to take part in a clinical skills taster, and attend an animal health careers drop-in. You’ll also be able to explore our campus, accommodation, and student support services.

Our Open Day on Saturday 17 August offers everything at the other events, plus you can:

• Tour our brand-new building and facilities
• Join bespoke sessions on coaching, mentoring, and digital technologies
• Learn about extra-mural studies (EMS) and intra-mural (IMR) placements
• Meet staff from our partner veterinary practices
