With less than two weeks to go until Burnley’s free Health Mela people are being invited to sign up to visit the interactive Anatomy Zone.
Organised in collaboration by the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing (NFHW) and the University of Central Lancashire’s* Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, the second annual Burnley Health Mela will take place on Saturday 31 May between 11am and 3pm on 31 May at Victoria Mill.
The event enables visitors to receive a variety of health checks and seek advice from a wide range of health professionals all under one roof. It will feature stalls from the National Health Service (NHS), non-profit organisations, and University staff and students offering complimentary health checks and advice.
The Health Mela’s special Anatomy Zone aims to bring the wonders of the human body to life for people of all ages. It includes hands-on exhibits and striking displays for visitors to delve into the human anatomy.
Dr Viktoriia Yerokhina, a Lecturer in Medical Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire, will host the Anatomy Zone. She said: “We’re really excited to bring the Anatomy Zone to Burnley’s Health Mela. Sharing the wonders of the human body in an interactive and fun way is a great way to bring medical sciences to life for people of all ages.”
Visitors to the Zone can experience ‘Beyond the Brain’, with activities around memory recall and optical illusions, and learn about fetal nutrition, where participants be an active placenta and find out how many nutrients they can transfer in 20 seconds.
