About the role:
The post holder will play a crucial role working as a part of our highly skilled Technical Services team in supporting the Design & Fabrication workshops in Wharf Building on the Preston campus. The post holder will specifically be involved in support for the Design workshop, which features a full range of woodworking machines, model making equipment, laser cutters, waterjet cutters and vacuum formers.
The successful candidate will be primarily focussed on supporting undergraduate practical project work, but may also be involved in providing support for research, income generation activities and industry partnership projects.
The hours for this role are 7.25 per week, with the preferred working day being a Monday.
About you:
The successful candidate will possess a range of relevant skills and knowledge to assist students with a variety of practical project work. They will have the ability to work with independence and initiative and be competent using a wide range of equipment and facilities.
Qualifications in a relevant subject area (ONC, HNC, BSc) or equivalent experiential learning in a related discipline are required for this role.
