When you work for the University of Lancashire, you’ll be part of a thriving community of talent that’s united in a common commitment to transform lives. We do this by delivering an outstanding educational experience and creating prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Whatever your role, you’ll be playing a vital part in helping us achieve our vision.
About the role:
We’re looking for a creative and highly organised individual to join our small team at Fox & Ink Books to help drive our business operations and external engagement.
In this varied role, you’ll work closely with the Publishing Manager to support strategic planning, customer relationship management, and market analysis. You’ll play a key part in the production and promotion of print, ebook, and audiobook formats, while helping to define and deliver PR and marketing strategies that enhance visibility and impact.
You’ll also support students working on publishing projects, coordinate events and travel, manage production schedules, and maintain financial records in line with university processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, student-focused publishing house, liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure activities align with our strategic goals and deliver meaningful engagement.
About you:
You will need to have proven experience from within a publishing house including project co-ordination, with significant knowledge of the children’s book market. You’ll also have hands-on experience with software such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel, and be confident in editing ebooks and audiobooks.
An undergraduate degree in Publishing or a related discipline is required for this role.
What we can offer you:
Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives. We also offer a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.
We are proud to be a diverse, multicultural university. We are committed to building a truly inclusive culture where diversity is championed. Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who will support the diversification within the University and support its development of a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
