About the role:
We wish to appoint a Senior Professionalism, Wellbeing and Safety Practitioner based at Westlakes campus. The PWS team is a multidisciplinary professional team providing a specialist pastoral support and mentoring service tailored to the needs of medical students in the later years of their undergraduate training.
The post is based at Westlakes campus in Whitehaven in West Cumbria and will focus on providing support to students based there and who are having difficulties with professionalism or wellbeing issues (including those undergoing fitness to practice proceedings. However, as part of the wider team, the post-holder may also be required on occasion to provide remote support to students based at our Burnley campus.
About you:
With undergraduate degree level education or equivalent, you will have excellent communication skills and will have experience of working with medical students providing mentoring and support. You will demonstrate a sensitive and supportive manner with students with the appropriate approach to confidentiality.

Applicants must meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This post is based at the University's Westlakes Campus in Whitehaven although travel to Furness General hospital in Barrow and occasional travel to other campuses will be required.
