Job details

By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve.

We help to raise aspirations and empower people to flourish in education, at work and for life by offering opportunities to people from all backgrounds and supporting our local communities and delivering research that has real-world impact. We are a real community, on an international scale and every colleague has a vital role to play in achieving our vision.

If you are passionate about inspiring students with your knowledge and experience in Digital Business, we would love to hear from you. You will join the Centre for Business Futures, a vibrant hub for research, knowledge exchange, and innovation that addresses complex business challenges through AI, digital transformation, and advanced analytics—translating insights into impactful solutions for business and society.

Joining our team puts you at the forefront of transforming the lives of our students. Our Business School offers a broad portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional development courses led by an ambitious team. We focus on providing students with real-world learning experiences reflecting the kinds of environments they can expect to encounter in their professional careers, and create a welcoming and engaging environment where everyone is supported and empowered to deliver their best work and achieve their potential.

About the role:

We are recruiting for two Lecturers in Digital Business to join our Business School team. Business is changing rapidly, with digital technologies transforming how organisations operate, create value, and engage with customers. This role will be key in ensuring that future business leaders can rise to these challenges and will support the development of essential digital and strategic skills needed in the modern economy.

The role will play a key part in the academic development, management, and delivery of our Business AI and Analytics, Finance and Data Analytics, and Digital Marketing courses. It will also contribute to the ongoing and future success of our new challenge-based learning curriculum, supporting the development of digital skills and literacy across our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

You will join a collaborative and supportive academic community that values innovation, inclusion, and excellence. We are committed to supporting your professional development and academic ambitions, providing opportunities to grow your teaching, research, and leadership profile within a dynamic and forward-looking Business School.

About you:

You will have a developing or established academic profile and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning that engages and inspires students, with experience of teaching in an area such as Digital Business, Digital Transformation, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Artificial Intelligence.

You will bring enthusiasm for curriculum innovation, particularly in embedding digital skills and literacy across our programmes, and a willingness to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our challenge-based learning approach. You will also demonstrate a commitment to research and knowledge exchange that supports the School’s wider strategic priorities and aligns with contemporary developments in digital business and management education.

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Digital Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a closely related field is essential for this role, as is a PhD (completed or near completion) in the same areas.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Dr Ahmad Abu-Arja, Deputy Associate Dean of the Business School.

What we can offer you:

Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives. We also offer a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.

We are proud to be a diverse, multicultural university. We are committed to building a truly inclusive culture where diversity is championed. Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who will support the diversification within the University and support its development of a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
