About the role:
The postholder will have institution wide responsibility for identifying and exploiting the commercial opportunity from our research and knowledge exchange activities. We are keen to capture all licensing opportunities with key businesses and to grow our pre and post spin out portfolio, attracting appropriate external investment. You will work in tandem with our Entrepreneurs in Residence and Professors in Practice to support the education and training of our staff and students and ensure we are maximising the return for our current and future patent portfolio.
About you:
You will be a key communicator who is able to explain commercial opportunities to the academic and student community and also be able to present our offer to potential investors and licensees. You will have direct experience of and a thorough understanding of IP protection, licensing, and commercialisation issues, with significant commercial experience
The successful candidate will have excellent networking skills and the ability to work in a planned and organised way, enabling the delivery of deadlines. You will be able to lead a small team and also be part of the RKE Service Leadership team.
