By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.
About the role:
We are looking for Clinical Teachers to join our dynamic teaching team in Dentistry. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of dental professionals through hands-on teaching, mentorship, and academic support across our BDS International Course (BDSi) and Postgraduate courses.
As a key member of our teaching team, you'll deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions and support students in developing essential technical, clinical and theoretical skills.
We have up to 3 full time positions available and are willing to recruit multiple people for each post. The minimum requirement is 4 hours per week (1 session).
Our BDSi programme is fully accredited by the General Dental Council, provides training for overseas dentists, allowing qualification with a UK BDS to join the dental register. With a 100% graduation rate since its launch in 2022, this role is key to ensuring the ongoing success and future growth of this programme. Our Post-graduate programmes include PGCert in Conscious Sedation, MSc and DClinDent programmes in Endodontology, Implantology, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Oral Surgery.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have clinical experience of service delivery in either an NHS or private dental setting and a broad range of dental experience in primary care dentistry. You will also have excellent communication skills.
Applicants will need to have a full GDC registration and CGS/CCPS certificate if applicable, along with an undergraduate degree or equivalent in BDS or a relevant dental area.
For informal enquiries, please contact Dr Claudia Cunningham, Head of Dentistry, via email in the first instance.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
What we can offer you:
Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives. We also offer a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.
We are proud to be a diverse, multicultural university. We are committed to building a truly inclusive culture where diversity is championed. Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who will support the diversification within the University and support its development of a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
