Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.

About the role:

We are seeking an Apprentice Educator in Social Work to join the School of Health, Social Work & Sport. The role involves working with course teams, learners, and employers in the provision of the Social Work apprenticeship programmes, including recruitment, retention, and achievement in line with the University and the Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant undergraduate degree (preferably honours degree in a Social Work related subject), be registered with Social Work England (SWE), and possess Stage One Practice Educator (PEPS) status. Level 2 English and Maths is also a must. You will have experience in teaching and supporting learners in work-based settings, assessing competence, and using interactive approaches to enhance engagement and success. Strong organisational skills, effective communication, and proficiency in IT and social media are essential. You must be able to travel across sites and demonstrate a commitment to confidentiality.

The successful candidate will play an active part in enhancing the learner experience, engaging with recruitment, and supporting the School’s wider academic and professional activities.

Interested applicants are able to arrange an informal discussion about the role by contacting Laura James.
