What You’ll Be Doing

As an apprentice in Building Services & Sustainability, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and tradespeople, supporting and contributing to core aspects of building services design, implementation, and sustainability efforts. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the design, planning and delivery of building services (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, energy systems) for both fit-out and new-build projects.
  • Supporting sustainability assessments and initiatives including energy efficiency measures, use of sustainable materials, resource conservation, waste minimisation, and responsible sourcing.
  • Helping monitor and document project performance against sustainability and environmental standards (e.g. energy usage, material waste, carbon footprint).
  • Collaborating with site teams, subcontractors, joiners, and other trades to coordinate building services integration and ensure installations meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Participating in quality assurance, inspections and testing of building services installations.
  • Supporting ongoing maintenance, retrofit or upgrade work to improve building performance, energy efficiency, or sustainability over the life of the building.
  • Learning and applying best practice in sustainable construction and building services engineering, including health & safety, regulatory compliance, environmental regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Contributing to project documentation, reporting, and assisting project managers in scheduling, procurement and coordination where applicable.
  • Being flexible and ready to work across a range of project types (fit-out, joinery, new build, refurbishments) and sectors (commercial, retail, industrial, leisure, etc.).

Working Pattern:

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm - Hours may vary.
