Course overview
This Level 7 module is worth 20 credits. It provides the opportunity to develop non-hierarchical and non-judgemental restorative supervisory relationships. You will explore health enablers, emotional intelligence, empathy, compassion and burnout. You'll consider your own boundaries and develop supervisory techniques. You'll also attend supervision sessions, which will include motivational interviewing, counselling and solution-focused interventions.

Entry requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- Applicants should be a registered nurse and hold a current pin number with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Applicants should be employed as a registered nurse and have a disclosure and barring check in place from the students own organisation Pin number confirmation will be obtained by the University prior to acceptance on the course. Applicants need to demonstrate prior learning at Level 6 For students where English is not their first language or where their degree has not been studied in the English language, a score of at least 6.5 on IELTS (or equivalent) with a minimum of 6 in each area is required. Applicants should be working in, or able to access a practice environment that will enable them to meet and achieve the programme learning outcomes. Applicants must be assigned a PNA mentor in practice. The mentor must be a registered nurse who has competed a Level 7 PNA course and completed their competency document. Lead PNA’s will provide a list of qualified PNA mentors who have been assigned to each trainee PNA. This information will be logged on the PNA application tracker in addition to the NMC pin number check.
