This CPD module will provide you with an evidence based, holistic approach to the health and wellbeing of females exercising before, during and after pregnancy.

Level: 7
Delivery: Blended learning via 8 teaching days online and 2 teaching days on campus

Module content includes, but not be limited to:

  • Physiological changes during pregnancy and the possible effects of participation in physical activity and exercise
  • Exercise and fertility
  • Pregnancy and the elite female athlete
  • Returning to training and competition post-pregnancy
  • Musculoskeletal considerations, including management of pelvic floor disorders
  • Evaluation of what is required at International, UK national and community levels to provide information, motivation and correct environment to improve the provision of physical activity to pregnant women.

Entry requirements

Appropriate prior undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above in a relevant subject area will be considered by interview.
