Offer Holder Days

Your Offer Holder event will give you an opportunity to explore your course and discover what studying with us is really like. You’ll get the chance to take part in a course taster session, meet your tutors and chat to fellow offer holders - a fantastic opportunity to begin building new long-lasting friendships.

At your Offer Holder Day you’ll get to delve deeper into your course, get stuck into an interactive taster session, explore our campus facilities and discover our fantastic support services.

It's important to involve your family and friends in your university decision. You can bring up to two guests with you who can stay with you throughout the day.

Alternatively, guests have the option to relax in one of our catering outlets or have a wander into the city centre.

For our Preston Campus Offer Holder Days we are offering a travel bursary if you're travelling from outside of the North West.

If you're a fully registered attendee (prospective student) living outside of the North West, and you check-in at the event, you are eligible to receive the bursary to help offset your travel costs. After you have attended the Offer Holder Day, we will send you an email with the instructions on how to claim the bursary. It will be sent to the email address you registered to attend. The bursary will be paid directly into your bank account. You will then be asked to log in to the portal to withdraw the bursary into your chosen bank account.

Those living in the following postcode areas are not eligible for this bursary:

• PR, BB, FY, BL, WN, M, LA, L, OL, WA, SK, CH, CW

Prospective students living in the following postcodes are eligible for a £30 bursary:

• CA, DL, BD, HX, HD, S, DE, ST, TF

Prospective students living in the following postcodes are eligible for a £40 bursary:

• NE, DH, SR, TS, YO, HG, LS, WF

Prospective students living outside of the postcodes listed above are eligible for a £50 bursary.

For most courses you don’t need to bring anything with you, although it might be useful to bring a notepad/pen to take some notes during the day. 

A small number of courses however, have taster sessions which require you to wear specialist clothing to participate (e.g. sports kit).  If this is the case, you will receive information in your event confirmation email about the session and what you need to bring with you.

Our Offer Holder events have a structured programme to help you get the most out your time with us.  Unlike an Open Day they have a fixed start and end time.  However, if you’re only able to attend part of the day, please send us an email and we’d be happy to discuss options with you.

If your course doesn't have an Offer Holder Day, or you can't make your Offer Holder Day, we'd still love to meet you.  Why not book onto one of our regular campus tours?

Offer Holder Days are optional events that offer a great chance to explore our campus, facilities, your course and also start planning your future with us, and we’d love to see you on campus again. They offer a more in-depth look at your course, including taster activities, so that you can start to prepare for starting your studies with us.

There’s also the chance to view examples of student accommodation, take a campus tour and chat to our support services.

If you’ve visited before, you may just want to take part in the subject activities. Or if you feel that you have already have all the information you need to you may decide not to attend.

Of course. You can join one of our student-led campus tours which will be departing from our Student Centre (Preston) or Victoria Mill (Burnley).

Our Student Accommodation Team will be on hand to answer any questions you have about living on campus. You will find them in the Student Centre (Preston) or in the Victoria Mill social space (Burnley).

You'll be able to view the range of accommodation options available, offering value for money in a safe, vibrant and inclusive halls community. You can go on a student-led tour, or you can drop into the accommodation show flats.

Offer Holder Days are optional events that offer a great chance to explore our campus, facilities, your course and also start planning your future with us. We’d love to see you at one of our events, but if you’re not able to make it, don’t worry this won’t affect your offer.
