Robyn Jones
Robyn teaches across all pre-registration Physiotherapy courses, with a particular focus on cardiovascular and respiratory based content, as well as the management of patients in acute clinical settings. In addition to lecturing, Robyn continues to work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within respiratory medicine, ensuring teaching content can be modelled around current real-world scenarios experienced in clinical practice.
Having qualified in 2016, Robyn was employed as a rotational Physiotherapist within the NHS, gaining experience in a number of clinical areas including critical care (ICU), cardiothoracic intensive care, cardiac rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and respiratory medicine.
Seeking to further develop clinical research skills, alongside his NHS role, Robyn implemented a randomised controlled trial to investigate rehabilitation interventions following orthopaedic surgery, forming the basis of a MSc by Research awarded in 2020. Robyn is now able to pass this experience on to students through leading on the undergraduate research module, guiding students in completing their own research projects.
Robyn undertook a further MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP), graduating in 2022, expanding his expertise in the assessment and management of various conditions, with a particular focus on the respiratory system. Robyn continues to work as an ACP within the acute respiratory department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
