Dr Muhammad Usman
Dr Muhammad Usman is a Senior Lecturer in International Business Strategy. He has over seven years of excellent teaching and research experience in accounting, finance, and international business at higher education institutions, nationally and internationally. He is an experienced academic with a strong professional and research background. He completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Lancashire, UK. He achieved his MSc in Accounting and Finance (with Distinction) and BA (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Central Lancashire, UK.
Currently, Dr Usman holds several important academic leadership and service roles that reflect his contribution to research and education. He serves as the Course Leader for the MSc International Business and Management and is a member of the Ethics Review Panel (ERP), the Research Programme Appraisal (RPA) Panel (DBA), the REF 2029 Internal Review Committee, and the People and Wellbeing Committee.
These roles place him at the heart of academic governance, research integrity, and strategic quality assurance. Previously, Dr Usman served as Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Business Administration (Top-up) and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Business and Management (Level 4), contributing significantly to curriculum development, student experience, and programme enhancement.
Dr Usman teaches across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in International Business, Corporate Governance, Accounting and Finance, Corporate Finance, International Financial Management, Risk and Capital Markets, and supervises undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and DBA research projects. He is an experienced doctoral supervisor and examiner and has examined a large number of doctoral candidates internally and externally. He has built a strong publication profile in highly ranked ABS journals, with multiple ABS three-star publications contributing to the REF 2029 cycle.

His research contributes to key contemporary debates in financial reporting, governance, and corporate finance.
