Mike Greaney
Mike teaches across all Physiotherapy year groups, as well as being admissions tutor for in Physiotherapy BSc (Hons). Alongside Mike’s teaching commitments, he also maintains a strong clinical link with the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Charity (BASIC) and is external examiner at Coventry University on their Physiotherapy and Leadership MSc.
Mike is the course lead for the MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) programme and teaches across all year groups in Physiotherapy. He has experience working in the public, private, and charitable sectors in both the UK and Ireland, and he has extensive expertise in supporting adults and children with neurological conditions.
Mike has a strong interest in healthcare policy, having contributed to national policy initiatives while working with Health Education England and NHS England. His teaching interests include developing practical tactile skills, evidence-based recruitment, and exploring the roles of simulation and debriefing in education.
With nearly a decade of experience in higher education, Mike also serves as an external examiner at various UK universities, where he focuses on academic processes and regulations.

Mike is currently working on several papers, including one on the role of debriefing in undergraduate courses related to healthcare and another cross-professional paper regarding the role of assessment centres in undergraduate recruitment. In 2025, he published a chapter in 'The Student Physiotherapist Companion' titled 'Assessment and Treatment of Children with Complex Needs.'
