Felicia Tattersall
Felicia teaches across multiple subject areas on all our occupational therapy programmes. She completed her training and worked as a paediatric occupational therapist in Australia before moving to the UK. Her specialist experience in complex paediatrics enables her to draw on clinical knowledge to enrich student learning with practical, real-world examples. With a passionate focus on integrating evidenced-based practice in teaching, she encourages students to engage critically with current research and apply it meaningfully in practice.
Felicia leads and contributes to a number of modules across the BSc, MSc, and Apprenticeship programmes. In her role as a personal tutor, Felicia provides support to occupational therapy learners on their practical placements as well as more generally providing pastoral and academic support throughout their course.
After qualifying as an occupational therapist in Australia, Felicia worked in a private clinic supporting autistic children and their families, enabling functional participation in everyday activities with a focus on behavioural support, emotional regulation and social engagement. She later joined a national non-profit organisation specialising in autism-specific services, where she worked alongside children, families, and schools to deliver strengths-based, individualised and evidence informed intervention.
After moving to the UK, Felicia worked in NHS community children’s therapy services, supporting children with a range of physical and developmental needs. Her work included equipment assessment and prescription, as well as running Developmental Coordination Disorder clinics for school-aged children. These experiences combined with passion for social inclusion, capacity building and health education continue to inform her teaching.
