Becki Cross

In 2018, Becki joined us as an Associate Lecturer, teaching Enterprise to final year Tourism, Hospitality and Events students. Becki then headed "EntrEvents". This was a student-led event management service, which enabled students to gain real-life experience organising and delivering corporate events, working for a client and delivering to a brief.

As a Lecturer in Business and Enterprise, Becki teaches on a variety of business, enterprise and marketing modules. Becki was the Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Business and Marketing degree for two and a half years before contributing to the development of the new MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation course and becoming the MSc Course Leader. Becki has module leadership and teaching responsibilities across a range of business, entrepreneurship, management and marketing disciplines.

Becki has an MSc in International Hospitality and Event Management and her MSc dissertation focused on the value of business events for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Becki has achieved Fellowship with the FHEA and is a Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE). She is currently also undertaking the Enterprise Educator Award.

Becki's PhD research is investigating how keeping a handwritten journal can help female small business owners and founders to achieve personal and business success.

Becki is an experienced event manager, event strategist, and small business owner. She has 26 years of event management experience, specialising in conferences, exhibitions and B2B events with up to 14,000 attendees, and working throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.

Becki was also Deputy Editor for EventMB (now Skift Meetings) - the number one resource for event planners. She is passionate about business and entrepreneurship and set up her own company at 22 years of age.
