Andy Cameron
Andy has over 31 years’ experience as a Lancashire Constabulary police officer working in a wide variety of departments such as response, C.I.D, custody, criminal justice, operational planning, neighbourhood, community safety and corporate development. He teaches on the BSc (Hons) Professional Policing course as well as the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship course.
At inspector level, Andy performed duties such as response, neighbourhood, in addition to being a firearms commander and football match co-ordinator. He also worked on a strategic level with the chief officer team and was a federation representative, supporting officers in misconduct and equality matters.
Andy joined the University to initially teach on a two-year foundation degree in policing which was similar to initial police training. He is very student focused and is keen to pass on his policing experience to potential and new officers, as he is keen for police officers to deliver the best service possible to the public.
Since February 2020 he has been predominantly teaching Lancashire Officers on the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, and also officers on both the response and detective degree holder entry programme courses.
