About the role:

The School of Medicine and Dentistry has a growing Vision Sciences provision area. As the Vision Sciences provision develops and expands, there is a need for staff to assist in the leadership and delivery of the programmes. 

The School wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing to contribute to, and lead in, the areas of course delivery, course management and course development in the area of Optometry & Ophthalmic Dispensing. 

About you:

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and course leadership in a higher education environment with outstanding delivery and learning support. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders. 

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and a PhD in a related subject are essential requirements of this role. The role also requires you to have a formal teaching qualification or Fellowship (Descriptor 2) of AdvanceHE along with a registration with the General Optical Council as an Optometrist.
