Get access to our student veterinary medicine facilities on our Preston Campus throughout the week. You’ll be supported by our friendly team of student ambassadors enrolled in our veterinary programmes. You’ll experience student life first-hand, develop your skills, and prepare for a fulfilling career ahead.

Get a head start on your career
Complete our veterinary summer school and get a guaranteed interview for 2026 entry if you apply to our Veterinary Medicine and Surgery courses. Medivet will also arrange a work experience placement at your local Medivet branch partner practice if you can attend. Our summer school will give you the support you need to pursue a rewarding career.

Veterinary facilities
Applicants should meet one or more of our contextual offer criteria. These include:
- If you are from an area of relative disadvantage
- If you are from an area with lower rates of participation in higher education
- If you have spent time in the care system
- If you are a young carer
- If you are first in family to attend higher education
- If you currently receive free school meals or have been in receipt of free school meals during your secondary education
- If you are from a military background
- If you are from the travelling community
- If you hold refugee status
- You identify as belonging to a minority ethnic or religious group
- You have suffered significant disruption to your studies due to illness or personal circumstances
For 2025 this programme is offered to UK residents only
Applicants must be 16-17 during the programme dates and planning to apply to a veterinary medicine course in October 2025. Applicants should be on track to meet entry requirements and studying the appropriate subjects.

Monday 4 to Friday 8 August: 9am - 4.30pm
- Evening activities:
6.30-8.30pm

Saturday 9 August: 12pm
