Do you have a passion for social media and want to show your creativeness online? Do you want to work with young people as well as cutting edge technology in a brand new Youth Zone where you can put your own mark on the work you do? Then we have the perfect role for you! We want you to help us raise the profile of Vault Youth Zone through the exciting means of Social Media and other new technologies. You will work closely with the OnSide Communications team to help deliver a Youth Zone communications plan and you will be responsible for supporting in all communications and marketing activities within the Youth Zone.

The apprenticeship itself is a Digital Marketer – Degree Apprenticeship which lasts for 3 years. As part of the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete classroom hours at the University of Lancashire alongside your practical on the job training at the Youth Zone, you will bring the theory that you learn into practice through your placement.

In particular, you will:

  • Use your creativity to raise awareness of the Youth Zone amongst the whole community including young people, partners, funders and potential patrons through social media and other digital and ‘offline’ platforms.
  • Engage with young people, the Vault’s team and different stakeholders to really emphasise Vault Youth Zone.
  • Portray a positive image of young people, their achievements, development and voice.
  • Produce creative communications that really captivate the target audience and tells the Vault story

The role includes the following responsibilities:  

  • Work with Vault’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator to plan and create engaging content for the Youth Zone’s website and social channels.
  • Work three evenings per week to capture content.
  • Have the creative freedom to deliver the Youth Zone’s Communications plan in a youthful and friendly way e.g creating and uploading content across a variety of social media channels as well as the website and work with cutting edge new technology in the process.
  • Maintain Vault’s online content (website and social media) in liaison with the Youth Zone’s staff team, young people and partners in an accurate and timely way. Training will be given to use analytics to monitor and improve the effectiveness and reach of each channel.
  • Write and create stories about the Youth Zone which will engage key local and regional media to generate positive media coverage.
  • Create videos to use online.
  • Design marketing materials and posters to be circulated.
  • Work with Vault’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator to plan / produce a wide range of marketing materials e.g leaflets and banners.
  • Be open to learning new digital media skills.
  • Work with young people to gather case studies and support young people to tell their own stories.
  • Keep the Youth Zone team up to date with Youth Zone news and activity.
  • Contribute to Vault’s events to promote and help raise funds for the Youth Zone.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

On our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship you’ll be combining theory and practice as you learn how to create and execute a digital marketing strategy. You’ll have all the tools you need to help a business by promoting its brands, products and services through social media, websites, apps and e-content.
